Manager – Accounting


The Account Specialist assists the Manager – Accounting with maintaining accounting ledgers that generate the production of key financial reports and records. Other activities include recording transactions, supporting Accounts Payables and Receivables transactions, preparation of checks and appropriate filing and recordkeeping.

Essential functions

  • Assists and supports Accounting Manager in maintain key accounting records and financial reports.
  • Prepares and reviews reports with Accounting Manager.
  • Enters invoices for Accounts Payable, prepare checks for signature, file, and mail checks.
  • Oversees daily bank deposits are made and that receipts are filed appropriately .
  • Supports and prepares month end reporting for review with Accounting Manager.
  • Send out Accounts Receivable aging reports as needed.
  • Create and calculate monthly sales tax spreadsheet along with filing sales tax with the state.
  • Assist with accounts receivable, phones calls and customers as needed.
  • Issue other customer invoices as required.
  • Prepare delinquent reporting and make collection calls on those accounts.
  • Download, reconcile and file monthly credit card statements.

Physical demands


  • Often works in indoor/office environment.
  • Works in close proximity to the public and other staff, such as sharing office space.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.
  • May be required to lift less than 10 lbs. on occasion.

Supervisory responsibilities


This position does not supervise staff.

  • Most work will be indoors with limited exposure to outside elements.
  • May work in close proximity to other people, such as when sharing or entering office space.

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of general accounting experience.
  • 2-3 years QuickBooks Online experience
  • Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn the accounting software used by the organization.

Preferred experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Rental software or other system knowledge and experience.
  • Bi-lingual/ability to speak Spanish.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements


  • Section 1 of federal Form I-9
  • Acceptable documents authorized by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services proving identity and employment authorization.
