The Assistant Manager supports the warehouse and distribution tasks, overseeing proper procedures and controls to maximize warehouse efficiency, supporting on-time preparation of inventory to satisfy scheduled deliveries and pickups for daily orders.

Essential functions

  • Provides leadership and direction to team members daily.
  • Manages and participates in loading/offloading the trucks.
  • Monitors team member performance and progress
  • Notifies management about over-booking or sub-rental needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Communicates with the sales staff for details and last-minute changes to jobs or events.
  • Communicates with Field Operations team for any updates, questions or needs they may have.
  • Maximizes efficiency of the return process, including the processing, cleaning, and re-stocking of rental items into inventory.
  • Ensures damaged items get processed and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Trains staff and monitors their performance and progress.
  • Maintains all warehouse equipment.
  • Manages maintenance of all warehouse areas including office, restrooms, and storage areas in a safe, clean, organized and working condition.
  • Complies with all government safety requirements and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Supervisory responsibilities


  • Provides leadership and direction to employees daily.
  • Works within the labor/scheduling hours needed for jobs.
  • Trains field staff on the safe usage of all installation machinery and equipment.
  • Develops and maintains training programs for staff on installation of products and services offered and monitors their performance and progress.

Work environment


  • Works mostly in indoor environments.
  • Occasionally works outdoors, in weather conditions such as heat, cold, sun or rain.
  • Often uses safety attire and equipment such as vests, masks, gloves, etc.
  • May work in close proximity to other people, such as when sharing or entering office space.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.
  • Hours worked/scheduled generally more than 40 hours per week; additional hours may be required or scheduled as needed.
  • Work may be across seven (7) days a week based on event; on-call availability may also be required when events are booked at a moment’s notice.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of warehouse, delivery, or routing management experience.

Preferred experience


  • Technical ability; experience with computers and software knowledge.
  • Bi-lingual/ability to speak Spanish.

Educational, Technical & Computer Skills


  • Rental software or warehouse management system knowledge and experience.
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel knowledge and experience.

Physical demands


  • Must be able to lift approximately 20-40 lbs. consistently; up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
  • Works in close proximity to people, such as in sharing office space.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements


  • Section 1 of federal Form I-9
  • Acceptable documents authorized by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services proving identity and employment authorization.
