Now Hiring: Manager – Field Operations

The Manager – Field Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and evaluating the event projects on-site according to the assigned schedule and given specifications. This role ensures that every project at hand is completed and delivered to the client/customer when due, and that expenses incurred in the project fall within the stipulated company budget.

  • Provides overall leadership and direction to Assistant Field Operations Manager and Crew leaders in the installation and removal of tents and equipment for all specified events.
  • Oversees multiple jobsites daily.
  • Plans, organizes, and evaluates the job site according to the assigned schedule and given specifications.
  • Evaluates the schedules and monitors the work progress against the allotted budget.
  • Ensures that a good work plan has been designed, and that the work is done per the assigned instructions for the event/site.
  • Oversees the work of the field crew members.
  • Leads and participates in the recruitment and training of tent installers.
  • Evaluates the work according to the budget and assists in developing project cost estimates.
  • Addresses all issues and concerns relating to field operations.
  • Assures that all company vehicles, machinery, and rental products are maintained in a safe and clean condition for operation.
  • Prepares reports of breakdowns of all vehicles, machinery, and rental products of the company.
  • Conducts event/site pre-install and post-install inspections.
  • Participates in weekly meetings to plan the work with Sales, Warehouse Manager and Logistics team.
  • Develops and maintains training programs for staff on installation of all products and services offered, and monitors their performance and progress.
  • Works closely together with Warehouse Manager to communicate requirements of equipment needed for jobs.
  • Provides excellent customer service and effectively resolves customer concerns.
  • Complies with all government safety requirements and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Supervisory responsibilities

 

  • Provides overall leadership and direction to employees daily.
  • Works within the necessary number of labor hours needed for jobs.
  • Develops and maintains training programs for all staff on installation of products, services offered, and monitors their performance and progress.

Work environment

 

  • Works outdoors, in weather conditions such as heat, cold, sun or rain.
  • Also works in a warehouse/indoor environment.
  • Often uses safety attire and equipment such as vests, masks, gloves, etc.
  • May work in close proximity to other people, such as in company/delivery vehicles or when sharing or entering office space.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.
  • Hours worked/scheduled generally more than 40 hours per week; additional hours may be required or scheduled as needed.
  • Work may be across seven (7) days a week based on event; on-call availability may also be required when events are booked at a moment’s notice.

Requirements

 

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five years of warehouse, delivery or routing management experience.
  • Must be able to provide a valid Driver’s License and a clean DMV record without major infractions (DUI’s, suspensions, etc.)
  • Able to pass a background check, DOT pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug test.

Preferred experience

 

  • Technical ability; experience with Computers and software knowledge.
  • Driver/Route experience. CDL is nice, but, not necessary.
  • Construction or other outdoor fieldwork experience.
  • Three months tent installation experience.
  • Bi-lingual/ability to speak Spanish.

Educational, Technical & Computer Skills

 

  • Rental software or warehouse management system knowledge and experience.
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel knowledge and experience.
  • Experience driving 16’ and 24’ trucks.
  • CDL preferred but not required.

Physical demands

 

  • Works outdoors, in weather conditions such as heat, cold, sun or rain.
  • Also works in a warehouse/indoor environment that does not have air conditioning.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 20-40 lbs. consistently; occasionally up to 70 lbs.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.

Travel required

 

  • Daily, to and from job sites.
  • Personal and company vehicles (trucks).

  • Section 1 of federal Form I-9
  • Acceptable documents authorized by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services proving identity and employment authorization.
