Choosing the Right Tent Size

The first step to creating a wedding floorplan is determining the proper size tent for your event. Classic Tents & Events recommends thinking about what you want to have beneath the tent, from the number of guests to the type of entertainment. Consider the style of seating you want to have, round or banquet tables? Will you have a cocktail area with a bar and lounge area? Are you planning a seated or buffet-style dinner? What about staging for a band? Or caterer needs? Knowing these details will allow Classic to recommend the proper square footage for your wedding tent.

Create a Wedding Tent Floorplan

A wedding tent floorplan is customized to each event. At Classic, we utilize PartyCAD, a floorplan building software. We share this with you to help refine and visualize your event layout. Plus, you can pass it along to vendors so everyone is on the same page. It can also be used for every aspect of your tented wedding, including the ceremony and reception. For the ceremony, it will allow you to create an organized setup with perfectly spaced seating – and an aisleway that can accommodate your dress train!

Pro Tip: Don’t forget to consider the weather! Classic can include covered walkways & flooring in your floorplan. Whether it be from an existing building that connects to your ceremony space. Or, partially tented walkways leading from a designated parking area.

For the reception, the basics to consider include dining tables for guests as well as food & beverage service. Depending on the service at your event, you may need a larger space to accommodate caterers, like a mixologist or cooking crew/serving staff. Or, rent them their own tent space, setting them away from the main tent. If you will have live entertainment, you may need space to accommodate a stage – and definitely a dance floor! Additional space may also be necessary to accommodate power, lighting, and climate control equipment.
